# The Public Servants Association is strongly urging the Department of Education to perform thorough vetting procedures before employing teachers. In Limpopo, a teacher was arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl while in the Eastern Cape a seven-year-old girl from Bergview was also raped. The association’s Claude Naiker says the integrity of the education system must be protected and children must be safeguarded from abuse, neglect, or harm:
