# Johannesburg’s City Power has lost 1.5-billion-rand due to ageing infrastructure in the past financial year. CEO Tshifularo Mashava says that some infrastructure is over 90 years old, leading to electricity losses through heat and outdated designs. Speaking in Fordsburg, Mashava stressed the need for infrastructure renewal to curb the nine-percent technical losses. City Power is exploring solutions to modernise its systems and reduce financial losses.
