# The South African Federation of Trade Unions has condemned the attack on emergency medical services workers in Makhaza, Khayelitsha, Cape Town. According to reports, seven criminals hijacked an ambulance and allegedly sexually abused one of the EMS staff members. Saftu’s spokesperson, Newton Masuku, says this barbaric act is an affront not only to the victims but to the entire working class and society at large. He adds that frontline workers should never be subjected to such brutality:
