# The City of Cape Town has dispatched policing resources to help with the search for missing six-year-old Joslin Smith in Saldanha Bay on the West Coast. She has been missing for more than a week after she disappeared outside her home in the Middelpos informal settlement. Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says they have dispatched an extensive and experienced team to help with the search for Joslin:
Meanwhile, Gauteng police have arrested a woman wanted for the kidnapping and murder of her neighbour’s four-year-old daughter in Protea Glen. Police spokesperson, Mavela Masondo, says the woman allegedly drugged Keeya Mbulawa and put her in a luggage bag in an attempt to kidnap her last month. He says when Keeya’s mother realised she was missing, she demanded to search the suspect’s luggage, and there she discovered her daughter. Masondo says the child succumbed to her injuries in hospital:
# Transnet has allocated one-billion-rand towards its marine fleet renewal programme, acquiring seven tugboats to bolster operations at commercial ports. These vessels will replace aging craft at Durban and East London ports. Ship building company, Damen Shipyards Cape Town, secured the contracts for delivering five tugboats to Durban and two to East London between April and August this year. The initiative aims to enhance Transnet’s maritime capabilities and efficiency in port operations.
# US rapper Ja Rule’s tour of Britain is in jeopardy after he was refused entry into the country because of his criminal record. He was due to start his Sunrise tour in Cardiff tomorrow, followed by concerts in Liverpool, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham and London. The artist, whose real name is Jeffrey Bruce Atkins, says he spent over nine-million-rand to put the tour together and cannot believe the authorities won’t let him in because he served a two-year prison sentence on tax evasion and gun charges.
# Tennis: The ATP Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund have signed a five-year strategic partnership to accelerate the growth of the sport globally. The PIF will now become the official naming partner of the men’s rankings. It will also have on‑court branding at major ATP tournaments at Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid and Beijing, as well as the season-ending ATP Finals and Next Gen ATP Finals. ATP CEO, Massimo Calvelli, says this partnership will elevate the long‑term future of the sport:
