# Eskom says the current stage 5 load-shedding will persist until five tomorrow morning due to ongoing challenges. Despite this, the utility brings a glimmer of relief by restoring five generating units, allowing for a temporary reduction to stage 3 load-shedding from 5 AM to 4 PM tomorrow. Stage 4 load-shedding will resume thereafter, forming an alternating pattern until further notice. Eskom plans to bring back two-thousand-150 megawatts by Wednesday.
# The DA has formally laid criminal charges at the Cape Town Central police station against deputy president Paul Mashatile, citing severe allegations of corruption spanning almost two decades. The charges include accusations of nepotism and family patronage, with the latest scandal involving the purchase of a 28.9-million-rand mansion by Mashatile’s son-in-law in Constantia, Cape Town. Briefing the media, DA leader John Steenhuisen has criticised president Cyril Ramaphosa’s indecisiveness in removing Mashatile. He vows to hold corrupt officials accountable:
