Save Our Sacred Lands supports SAHRC’s court action against the City of Cape Town [SOUND]

# Civil society group Save Our Sacred Lands says it fully supports the South African Human Rights Commission’s decision to institute proceedings in the Western Cape High Court against the City of Cape Town. The commission is seeking to interdict the transfer of 49 municipal properties sold at a public auction in February, until a review of the metro’s decision has been conducted. The organisation’s spokesperson, July Eccles, says municipal land decisions must take into account the need to address the country’s persistent spatial inequalities:
