# The EFF is calling for the immediate arrest of Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya, accusing her of failing to act on warnings that water from the Bronkhorstspruit treatment plant was unsafe. Several hundred people have fallen ill, including many children aged four and under. The party says the Department of Water and Sanitation told Parliament that it issued the City with a non-compliance notice in February, but corrective measures were not implemented. Chlorine was last added to the water on the 23rd of September, yet untreated water continued flowing for 21 days.
