#AfriForum says the City of Johannesburg’s consideration of private sector involvement in water supply shows that the current municipal service delivery model is failing residents. The organisation believes communities should have alternatives to unreliable municipal services. AfriForum’s Lambert de Klerk says private companies and community organisations should be allowed to help provide water services to encourage competition, innovation and greater community control. He added the priority now is to implement effective solutions as quickly as possible.
