# Minister of Higher Education and Training, Buti Manamela, has committed to stronger oversight and accountability across post-school education and training. He says recurring weaknesses identified through oversight and audits must be addressed with concrete action. Manamela says he has taken note of the Auditor General’s recommendations, including the need for stronger oversight of executive management, clearer direction on reforms, greater scrutiny of governance and appointments, and protection of skills funding. He adds that accountability will extend across the department’s leadership, boards, councils, administrators and chief executives.
