Parliament committee criticises the National Skills Fund

# Parliament’s portfolio committee on Higher Education and Training has called on the National Skills Fund to take responsibility for its own inadequate project management of its funded skills development programmes. The original Phila Jordan Capital project was approved at over 300-million-rand, with the aim of training 800 beneficiaries under the Artisan Development Programme. However, the agreement was terminated in May this year, disrupting stipend payments and accommodation. The committee says warns that inadequate project management and learner support were contributing to financial losses within the system.
