# Parts of the Johannesburg CBD and Marshalltown remain without power following a major fire at the Johannesburg Central Substation on Saturday. The latest power outage hit just a day after electricity was restored following a two-week-long outage in the same area. City Power’s spokesperson Isaac Mangena says technical teams have found evidence of suspected cable theft and vandalism in the underground tunnels, including tools and indications that copper cables had been cut. He says power to the affected areas will be restored in phases:
