# The DA in Tshwane says it needs a 50-percent-plus-one majority to end coalition instability and govern the metro outright after the upcoming local government elections. The party’s Cilliers Brink says without that mandate, he expects the ANC and other parties to try to split the DA vote. He says those parties do not want to see the DA running a functioning city:
