GOOD criticises Cape Town for using a grant earmarked to address overcrowding in Dunoon [SOUND]

The GOOD Party has criticised the City of Cape Town for using special funds earmarked to build homes for poor people to pay for a piece of land in Milnerton, which it is now selling for a 71-million-rand profit to a private developer. The land was paid for with Urban Settlement Development Grant money. GOOD Secretary-General, Brett Herron, says the funds were intended to help address overcrowding in Dunoon. He says USDG grants are not general-purpose funds for municipalities to use at their discretion:
