Child abuse support centre faces closure over Gauteng funding delays

# Women and Men Against Child Abuse says its child protection services in Ekurhuleni could close because of delayed funding from the Gauteng Department of Social Development. The organisation has not received subsidy payments for five months, despite receiving a funding approval letter in March. Its Kidz Clinic in Boksburg has supported more than 17-thousand children and their caregivers over 25 years. The organisation’s Vincentia Dlamini warns counselling, assessments, and court support for child abuse victims could be affected if the funding is not released.
