# The Forum for South Africa has expressed concern at the discovery of the bodies of five women in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, saying the lives of women cannot become statistics. Police have deployed a multidisciplinary team to investigate possible links between the cases. The forum’s leader, Tebogo Mashilompane, says law enforcement agencies need to strengthen policing and visible patrols in communities where women may be at heightened risk, and ensure that perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted where sufficient evidence exists:
