# Build One South Africa leader Mmusi Maimane says the party will cut unnecessary red tape for small businesses and improve municipal procurement opportunities for local enterprises. Maimane was speaking during the launch of BOSA’s election campaign in Mphakane, Limpopo. He says they will use community meetings, ward-level service reporting and public performance targets to ensure residents know what their municipalities have promised and whether those commitments are being delivered. He says BOSA is ready to build municipalities that work with communities, are accountable to communities, and serve the interests of every resident.

Maimane has also announced that the party will contest the upcoming local government elections in nine municipalities across Limpopo. He says the party will field more than 100 candidates across the municipalities, representing residents who are frustrated by poor or non-existent basic services and long-term unemployment:

# The DA says Eskom’s construction budgets for Medupi and Kusile do not reflect the full cost to South Africa, arguing that broader expenses linked to the projects must also be considered. The party’s Kevin Mileham says Eskom’s figures show approved construction budgets of 145-billion-rand for Medupi and 160.5-billion-rand for Kusile, with recorded expenditure of 131.1-billion-rand and 155.5-billion-rand, respectively. However, Mileham argues that the approved construction budgets should not be confused with the overall cost of the two projects, raising questions about additional expenditure:

# Police are warning women in and around Kempton Park, in Ekurhuleni, particularly those in the Rhodesfield area, to exercise extreme caution following the discovery of the bodies of four women in the same area over the past two months. The latest body was discovered last night. Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says preliminary information gathered by detectives has revealed concerning similarities in the circumstances surrounding the deaths:

# City Power recorded one-thousand-138 infrastructure-related incidents in Johannesburg in the 2024/25 financial year, compared with one-thousand-54 in 2025/26, representing an overall decline of approximately 7.4-percent. The McLaren driver delivered a spectacular final lap to edge out championship leader Kimi Antonelli by just 0.011-seconds. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen claimed third, closely followed by Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton, with his teammate Charles Leclerc fifth, George Russell sixth, Norris’s teammate Oscar Piastri seventh, and Verstappen’s teammate Liam Lawson in eighth position.
