COSATU says crime and corruption drive away investors [SOUND]

# Union federation COSATU says it is encouraged by the recent positive fall in some serious crimes in the latest quarterly crime statistics released for April to June 2026. Statistics South Africa has recorded a 5.9-percent decline in murders, 17.6-percent drop in house robberies, and a 21-percent decline in truck hijackings. COSATU’s Matthew Parks says that, despite the decline, to attract the investment needed to grow the economy and create decent jobs, crime and corruption must be reduced drastically:
