# The City of Tshwane is warning Hammanskraal residents that the tap water in the area remains unsafe for drinking, due to ongoing water quality issues at the Temba Water Treatment Plant. The area was the epicentre of a Cholera outbreak in May 2023, which claimed the lives of more than 30 people. The metro’s spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo, says the tap water may be used for other domestic purposes within the distribution areas supplied by the plant:
