# Zambian president Hakainde Hichilema has been sworn in for a second five-year term at a ceremony attended by thousands at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. Hichilema, leader of the United Party for National Development, secured 60.49-percent of the vote in the August 13’s presidential election against main opposition leader Brian Mundubile. He was sworn in alongside vice-president Mutale Nalumango. Regional leaders, including Namibia’s president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Kenya’s William Ruto and Zimbabwe’s Emmerson Mnangagwa, attended the inauguration.
