Tshwane to challenge Kleinfontein settlement despite township paying arrears

# The City of Tshwane is moving forward with plans to challenge its own High Court settlement agreement with Kleinfontein, despite the Afrikaner-only township fulfilling its financial and administrative obligations under the deal. Yesterday, Kleinfontein Aandeleblok, the company managing the settlement, paid its outstanding arrears and submitted a comprehensive land-use application, meeting the strict deadlines set by the 4 August 2026 court order. However, the agreement has triggered immense political fallout inside the Tshwane Metro, leading to a U-turn by city officials.
