# The Forum for South Africa welcomes the proposed joint workshop between the National Student Financial Aid Scheme and universities to address structural challenges affecting the Funza Lushaka Teacher Bursary Programme. The scheme has paid 222,6-million-rand to six universities under the programme and covers nearly three-thousand students whose allowances have been delayed. NSFAS has indicated that a significant number of institutional claims remain outstanding.
