# KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Thulasizwe Buthelezi has criticised the uMkhanyakude District Municipality’s plan to spend 15-million-rand on five specialised water tankers. According to Buthelezi, the deal is unnecessary and could worsen the municipality’s financial problems. The department’s Siboniso Mngadi says the MEC has urged the municipality to cancel the planned purchase:
