# The DA in Johannesburg has rejected the appointment of Lesiba Malotana as the new head of the Department of Public Safety. A company with links to Malotana got ten-million-rand from corrupt contracts with the Tembisa Hospital, and is currently the subject of a Special Investigating Unit probe. The DA’s Solomon Maila says that, out of the top three candidates, the metro has chosen to appoint the riskiest candidate, while the other two had no negative security risks detected:
