# Education activist Hendrick Makaneta has welcomed the findings of the Public Protector on the National Student Financial Aid Scheme. The Public Protector’s report identified that more than 40-thousand students improperly received NSFAS funding amounting to approximately 5,1-billion-rand. Makaneta is calling on Higher Education and Training minister, Buti Manamela to implement the findings as a matter of urgency:
