# Justice and Constitutional Development deputy minister Andries Nel says ending gender-based violence requires translating policy into practical protection and accountability. Speaking at the South African Chapter of the International Association of Women Judges Annual General Conference in Bloemfontein, Nel highlighted the importance of policy to protection that advances accountability, justice, and systemic reform to end gender-based violence. Nel emphasised stronger victim-centred justice measures and coordinated action, including Sexual Offences Courts and Thuthuzela Care Centres to ensure survivors experience justice with dignity and protection.
