# Police arrested 17-thousand-583 suspects for various criminal offences during nationwide Shanela operations last week. One-thousand-777 wanted criminals linked to violent offences were apprehended, including murder, attempted murder, rape, carjackings, illegal possession of firearms, and house and business robberies. Police spokesperson Vincent Mukhathi says confiscations and recoveries included 138 unlicensed firearms, including handguns, shotguns, and rifles, one-thousand-178 rounds of ammunition, various types of drugs, and 60 hijacked and stolen vehicles:
