# The Institute of Race Relations says it is engaging healthcare organisations to better understand the impact of healthcare professionals leaving South Africa. The organisation says more than 125-thousand healthcare workers left the country between 2013 and last year, putting added pressure on the health system. The institute’s Makone Maja says the talks will help develop plans to keep skilled healthcare workers in South Africa and reduce the loss of talent to other countries.
