# The DA has welcomed the Western Cape Education Department’s continued focus on strengthening learner performance in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. A total of 12-thousand learners across Grades 10 to 12 are currently receiving structured academic support aimed at improving outcomes in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. The DA’s Peter Johnson says this is supported through an annual investment of 25-million-rand, emphasising that STEM subjects are essential:
