# Crime kingpin, Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry next week. His testimony is expected to shed further light on allegations of corruption, political interference and the alleged influence of organised crime within law enforcement and government structures. Matlala has been implicated in the corruption of multiple high-ranking police officials in evidence presented at the commission. He recently entered a plea agreement with the State, linked to his 228-million-rand Medicare24 police tender.
