# Western Cape MEC of Education, David Maynier, says the department has made great strides toward delivering on its vision of quality education for every learner over the past four years. As a result of president Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet reshuffle, Maynier has been promoted, becoming the new minister of Fisheries, Forestry and the Environment.
