Cosatu calls for stronger financial controls, as Gauteng Education uncovers 41 cases of alleged corruption in schools [SOUND]

# Union federation Cosatu in Gauteng has called on the provincial Education Department to implement stronger financial controls and governance systems in schools to prevent future abuse. This comes as the department has uncovered at least 41 cases of alleged corruption, maladministration and fraud in various schools across the province. Cosatu provincial chairperson, Amos Monyela, says the criminal conduct of a few individuals must not tarnish the reputation of thousands of honest public servants who work tirelessly to build a better education system:
