Gauteng warns of rising drug-related psychosis [SOUND]

# The Gauteng Health Department has raised concern over the growing number of young people developing substance-induced psychosis linked to drug and alcohol abuse. Marking the South African National Council on Alcoholism Drug Awareness Week, the department’s spokesperson Steve Mabona says healthcare facilities are seeing more patients with psychosis associated with substance use. He urged communities to recognise early warning signs, seek treatment promptly, as early intervention can prevent long-term mental illnesses:
