# The ANC in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda Region in the North West has expelled five Maquassie Hills councillors, including its mayor Mzwandile Feliti, for two years after disciplinary proceedings. The party says the individuals were found guilty of six charges, including defying party instructions and convening unlawful council meetings. Regional disciplinary committee chairperson Zanele Mphafudi says the members were given a fair hearing before the ruling. The ANC says the councillors may appeal through the party’s provincial and national disciplinary structures.
