# Union federation Cosatu in Gauteng has welcomed the sweeping overhaul of the Gauteng Traffic Wardens programme, aimed at fighting crime, protecting public infrastructure, and creating sustainable jobs for young people. A new hybrid model will consolidate the programme into a single Gauteng Traffic Wardens Corps operating across three specialised streams. Cosatu’s Amos Monyela says the success of the programme will depend on proper training, adequate resources, clear accountability measures, and strict adherence to the law:
