Driver dies and 89 passengers injured in UK train crash

# An East Midlands Railway train driver has died and 89 people are injured when two passenger trains collided south of Bedford in the UK. The incident occurred last night on the route to London St Pancras. The driver was on a journey from Corby when his train collided with a train from Nottingham. Thirty-three passengers sustained serious or very serious injuries. British Transport Police and the Rail Accident Investigation Branch are investigating the incident. Services between Bedford and London remain suspended for the weekend.
