150 live scorpions rescued in Cape Town Airport smuggling bust

# Authorities at the Cape Town International Airport have intercepted 150 live scorpions allegedly being smuggled. Acting on intelligence, the South African Police Service discovered the animals hidden among a suspect’s clothing during a luggage search. The scorpions had been individually packaged in conditions described as harmful to their welfare. The suspect is expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court today . The rescued animals are being cared for by the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.
