# Ten illegal transformers have been dismantled during a major law enforcement operation in Kya Sands, Randburg, in Gauteng, targeting electricity theft and illegal connections. City Power and police conducted the raid in the Msawawa informal settlement, where a suspected syndicate allegedly built an illicit network using stolen infrastructure from City Power and Eskom. Residents reportedly paid the syndicate about 400-rand per month for electricity. One suspect was arrested during the operation, and investigations are continuing.
