# The National Tertiary Education Union in the Eastern Cape has lodged a criminal complaint against suspended University of Fort Hare vice-chancellor Sakhela Buhlungu, alleging serious governance failures and accountability. The complaint has been lodged with the Special Investigating Unit, the Hawks and the Public Protector. Buhlungu was suspended after a forensic report alleged he and four employees had appointed two executive directors without the approval of the university’s council. The union says Buhlungu has brought the institution into disrepute.
