# A Tshwane Metro Police Department drunk driving operation in Sunnyside over the weekend resulted in the arrest of 16 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. The operation formed part of ongoing efforts to promote road safety and ensure driver fitness across the metro. TMPD says driving under the influence of alcohol has serious consequences which affect not only the driver but also other motorists on the road as well.
