Good day, let’s look at the latest sports news and scores:
# We begin with rugby: New Zealand relinquished second position in the world rankings to Ireland following the weekend’s one-point loss to France in Paris. South Africa increased its lead on top of the rankings to two points after Saturday’s 29-20 victory over England at Twickenham. France remains in fourth position, followed by Argentina, Scotland, England, Australia, Fiji and Italy. Wales remains in 11th position after their 52-20 dribbing by the Wallabies, with Georgia in 12th after squandering a lead to go down to Italy.
Meanwhile, Wales’ coach, Warren Gatland, says he will now consider his future after his side tumbled to a record eleventh consecutive Test match defeat. Australia demolished Wales 52-20 in Cardiff yesterday. Gatland met with Welsh Rugby Union chairperson Richard Collier-Keywood and executive director of rugby Nigel Walker after the game. Wales take on world champions South Africa on Saturday. Gatland says this is the most challenging time he has faced as a coach:
# Golf: South Africa’s Dean Burmester captured the Vodacom Origins of Golf title by seven strokes over Jean Hugo after carding a six-under 66 in the final round at the Oubaai Golf Estate in George in the Western Cape. He has matched the second-largest margin of victory in the history of this series. Jacques Kruyswijk finished third on 20 under par. Burmester, who secured his first LIV Golf win in Miami in April, says it is super special to win in front of his family and friends:

Italian Francesco Bagnaia started the day 19 points behind Martin, but victory at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was insufficient to overhaul the Spaniard. Martin’s 32 podiums across sprints and races earned him the title by ten points. South Africa’s Brad Binder finished fifth in the championship. Martin says winning the championship is special:
# And finally, tennis: World number one Jannik Sinner capped off an amazing season by becoming the first Italian to win the ATP Finals title. The 23-year-old defeated American Taylor Fritz, 6-4, 6-4 in Turin. After notching his Tour-leading 70th win of the season, Sinner has joined Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic as the only men to win the Australian Open, US Open and ATP Finals in the same season. Sinner says he surprised himself with the consistency of his performances this season:
