Good day, let’s look at the latest sports news and scores:
# First up we have cricket: Proteas Women captain Laura Wolvaardt believes they have the talent to beat defending champions Australia in the T20 World Cup semifinal in Dubai today. This is a rematch of last year’s final at Newlands in Cape Town, when Australia claimed its sixth title, winning by 19 runs. Tomorrow’s other semifinal will see the West Indies take on New Zealand. Wolvaardt says they need to be at their very best:
More cricket news: Former Indian captain Virat Kohli described AB de Villiers as the most talented player he has ever played with after the former South African batter was inducted in the sport’s hall of fame. They played together for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. The International Cricket Council asked Kohli to write a letter about De Villiers. He says the South African, nick-named ‘Mr 360’, is thoroughly deserving of the honour due to his impact on the game, which he describes as unique.

Williams says he is fully aware that his journey to this point started with his victory in the Fortress Invitational last year:

Alcaraz defeated Denmark’s Holger Rune 6-4, 6-2, to set up a meeting with the 38-year-old. Alcaraz says Nadal is a very important person in his life:

The 31-year-old was banned for four years in February after testing positive for synthetic testosterone. The ban was reduced to 18 months earlier this month after the Court of Arbitration for Sport accepted his ingestion of a banned substance was not intentional.
