Good day, let’s look at the latest sports news and scores:
# We kick off with rugby: Head Coach Andy Farrell made four changes to Ireland’s starting 15 for tomorrow’s second Test against South Africa in Durban. Garry Ringrose comes into the midfield, while there is an all-Munster half-back pairing with Conor Murray named at scrumhalf, joining Jack Crowley at flyhalf. Tadhg Beirne switches to blindside flank, James Ryan will start at lock and Rónan Kelleher will be at hooker. Kelleher says they are confident they can win to level the series:
# Next up we have cricket: Human rights protection non-governmental organisation Citizens for Integrity is suing Cricket South Africa over its decision to strip David Teeger of the captaincy of the SA Under-19 side before the start of the Under-19 World Cup in January. The Jewish athlete evoked controversy with his comments relating to the Israel/Gaza conflict. In court papers the NGO says CSA acted irrationally and unlawfully, and its decision embarrassed and humiliated Teeger, infringing on his rights.
# Tennis: Italy’s Jasmine Paolini will face Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic in the women’s singles final at Wimbledon tomorrow. Seventh-seeded Paolini battled back from a set down to beat Donna Vekic of Croatia in three sets in two hours-51 minutes, the longest women’s singles semifinal in Wimbledon history. Krejcikova defeated 2022 champion Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan. Paolini, who is the first Italian woman to reach a Wimbledon final, says despite her recent success on tour she remains focused:

China, Miami, Belgium, Austin, Brazil and Qatar have been selected as the events that will stage the alternative format. Sao Paulo in Brazil will keep up its run of hosting the sprint race every year since 2021, while Belgium returns for the first time since last year. F1 chairperson Stefano Domenicali says the sprint has been a great success, bringing the fans more action and racing on the track.
# And, we close out with cycling: Biniam Girmay of Eritrea sprinted to his third stage victory at this year’s Tour de France with success during stage 12. The 24-year-old won stages three and eight and his third stage victory now extends his lead in the sprint points race. Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia meanwhile retained the overall leader’s yellow jersey and remains one-minute-six-seconds ahead of Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel. Girmay says he wants to focus on sprinting in future:
