# Outgoing Hawks head, advocate Godfrey Lebeya says there was no capture and political interference inside the directorate for Priority Crime Investigation since it was established. At a farewell function this weekend, he provided an overview of his tenure from 2018 until his final day with the Hawks and police in Pretoria as he bids law enforcement good-bye. He served in the police force for 40 years and was appointed in many top positions:
Lebeya also says the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation will continue to build its internal capacity. He says a Forensic Accounting Investigation unit will be partnering with business to ensure the transfer of skills:
# The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber has launched the Entrepreneur 2025 Programme in partnership with Airports Company South Africa and the iLembe Chamber. Aimed at scaling small, medium, and micro enterprises, the seven-week initiative offers mentorship, training, and funding. Only active, tax-compliant businesses led by full-time owners may apply. With backing from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the programme promises world-class insights to drive local growth, job creation, and long-term economic resilience in the metro.
# Rugby: The Bulls did enough to score a dominant win in an 11-try match against a fighting Edinburgh side in the semi-final of their United Rugby Championship match at Loftus. In a typical do-or-die knock-out match, the Bulls came back from a 3-14 deficit early on to secure a win a 42-33 victory. Keagan Johannes made up for a less than satisfactory kicking performance, with a starring role as flyhalf and a brilliant solo try with Akker van der Merwe, the replacement hooker known as the Angry Warthog, rampaging in the tight phases.
And in Durban, the Sharks have progressed to the semi-finals of the United Rugby Championships, beating Munster by the smallest possible margin in Durban. With the scores tied at 24-24, the match went into extra time. With the scores still tied after extra time, the match went to penalty kicks for the first time in URC history. Rory Scannell, playing in his 200th match for Munster missed his kick, while the Sharks converted all of theirs, including a brilliant effort from youngster Bradley Davids.
