# The High Court in Pretoria has ordered that attempted murder accused Vusimusi ‘Cat’ Matlala be transferred back to the Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre within 96 hours, for consultations with his legal team. Matlala missed his court date today as he is in Ebongweni Super Maximum Correctional Centre, KwaZulu-Natal. The spokesperson for the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption, Henry Mamothame, says Matlala has faced challenges consulting with his lawyers, and matter postponed to 20 April:
# The National Prosecuting Authority plans to oppose bail for suspended Gauteng Organised Crime sergeant Fannie Nkosi next week at the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court. Nkosi was arrested last week following a police raid in his Pretoria house. NPA’s Lumka Mahanjana says he faces charges including defeating the ends of justice, possession of illegal ammunition, and failure to safeguard firearms and ammunition under the Firearms Control Act:
The Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court has also ruled that Sergeant Fannie Nkosi can only apply for bail on 13 April. The state says it needs more time to review official dockets seized during a raid on his Pretoria home and to test explosives found in his possession. Nkosi will be placed in the hospital section at Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Services for his safety.
# Israel and the United States have condemned the attack near the Israeli consulate in Istanbul today, in which one gunman was killed and two injured during a shoot-out with police. The Israeli foreign ministry in a statement condemned the attack and thanked the Turkish security forces’ swift action in thwarting the attack. The US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack said his government condemns the attack in the strongest terms. Israeli authorities have reported an unprecedented surge in attempts to carry out attacks against Israelis and Jews abroad since the outset of the Iran conflict.

Kriel says he is very excited to learn French culture, meet new people and still do the thing he loves the most, but is thankful for everyone who made his time at Loftus so memorable.
