# The FW de Klerk Foundation has expressed confidence in the newly appointed national executive of the government of national unity, highlighting its potential to enhance transparent governance and accountability. President Cyril Ramaphosa announced 32 ministerial positions, with the ANC holding 20, the DA six, and smaller coalition parties the rest. Executive director Christo van der Rheede emphasises the collaborative cabinet’s commitment to addressing the needs of South Africans. The foundation pledges support for the new government’s progress and praised the diverse representation and shared key ministries.
The CEO of the Road Freight Association, Gavin Kelly, is meanwhile calling on the new minister of Transport, Barbara Creecy, to address the issue of non-compliance in the transport sector. Kelly says the sector is at a crisis in terms of various aspects of transport, both freight and passengers. He says its links to the global market are at such a stress point that it is crucial to have solid, enlightened and positive leadership:
# Standard Bank customers have reported alleged massive security breaches on social media. Numerous clients reported fraudulent transactions and missing funds. Many customers say they are unable to block their cards through the app, complaining of long call centre queues and the inability to reach the fraud hotline. It is still unclear what caused the security breach. Standard Bank has experienced multiple system outages in recent years, prompting leadership changes to improve IT stability and operations.
# Tennis: Andy Murray has decided not to participate in Wimbledon’s single competition and will join older brother Jamie in the doubles in his farewell tournament. The 37-year-old former world number one says he worked hard to be fit after a recent operation to remove a spinal cyst, but realises it would be too much to play singles in the grasscourt Grand Slam tournament one more time. Murray announced earlier he would retire after the tennis competition at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Gold sells at two-thousand-321-dollars-79-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 87-dollars-25-cents a barrel.
# And finally: The City of Cape Town has expressed concern about the number of physical assault calls received by the Public Emergency Communication Centre. During this past weekend alone, the centre recorded one-thousand-761 calls for assistance, which included 175 physical assault calls. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says domestic violence reports also remain a concern with 51 calls recorded:
