# Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, has confirmed that the lifestyle audit report for senior government officials has been submitted. The audit is part of government’s efforts to enhance transparency and combat corruption within the public sector. Briefing the media, Ntshavheni states the report will help identify any discrepancies between officials’ declared assets and their income, supporting the government’s fight against unethical behaviour:
Cabinet has condemned the recent mass shootings in the Eastern Cape, expressing deep concern over the violence that has led to multiple fatalities. They called for increased police presence and community engagement to address the root causes of violence. Ntshavheni says cabinet reiterated its commitment to working with communities to combat crime and promote a safer environment for all citizens:
# The director-general in the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Zane Dangor, says African Union membership in the G20 is a significant achievement. This comes ahead of the G20 summit in Brazil in November. Addressing the media on the South Africa-African Union G20 consultative meeting, Dangor emphasised the focus on Africa’s Agenda 2063. He urged the AU to collaborate with G20 leaders to advance Africa’s priorities on the global stage:
# Cricket: England declared its first innings on a mammoth 823 for seven on the penultimate day of the first Test against Pakistan in Multan. Harry Brook contributed 317 off just 322 balls and Joe Root scored 262.
