# The Mankweng Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo has postponed the bail applications of three men accused of killing two women and feeding their bodies to pigs. Farmer Zachariah Olivier and two employees, Rudolph de Wet and William Musoro, are facing counts of premeditated murder, attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. One of the accused claims police assaulted and tortured him, threatening to file criminal charges. Magistrate Arshard Chaia referred the case to the Regional Court in Polokwane:
# The minister of Electricity and Energy, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, says two grants from the European Union totaling around 630-million-rand is a positive move to the just transition. The first grant of 140-million-rand will aid Transnet’s green hydrogen projects, while the rest will bolster the national green hydrogen value chain. Ramokgopa has highlighted South Africa’s potential to become a key player in the clean energy revolution:
# South Africa’s largest retirement fund administrator, Alexforbes, has processed 400-million-rand in withdrawals during the first week of the two-pot retirement system. This allows individuals to access up to ten-percent of their retirement savings. The system has sparked overwhelming interest, with Alexforbes’ online platform receiving 560-thousand interactions. The company and others like Old Mutual and Sanlam urge South Africans to withdraw funds only for emergencies, stressing the importance of preserving retirement savings.
# Soccer: Harry Kane will become the tenth player to earn 100 caps for England when he captains the team against Finland at Wembley tonight. Organisers will pay tribute before the UEFA Nations League fixture with a special ceremony, including the presentation of a gold cap. Kane is the first player to become an England men’s centurion since Wayne Rooney. During his international career, he has played in more games at major finals than any other Englishman and has played in more competitive matches than any other senior men’s international.
