# Former president Thabo Mbeki says Africa must invest in producing skills that will help to grow the economy across the continent. He was addressing the 15th annual Thabo Mbeki lecture in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania yesterday under the theme, State of the Continent – Reigniting African Renaissance. Mbeki says Africa need to develop the cadres to be knowledgeable about African policies and act on them:

Zimbabwe were bowled out twice while chasing England’s first innings total of 565 for 6 declared, scoring respectively 265 and 255 in their two innings. Zimbabwe put up a fighting performance, with Sean Williams scoring 88 runs. The team received a standing ovation when they did a lap of honour around the stadium.

The Institue’s doctor Vuyiswa Khumalo says most human rabies cases are linked to dog bites, and the disease is almost always fatal once symptoms appear.
