# Health minister Aaron Motsoaledi has expressed concern over the death of intern Alulutho Mazwi at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital in Umlazi KwaZulu-Natal. While no official report has been received, the minister wants the Health Ombud to investigate it urgently, citing his extensive medical background. Motsoaledi offered condolences to Mazwi’s family, hoping the probe will uncover the truth behind the tragedy. Motsoaledi is currently attending the World Health Assembly that ends on 27 May in Geneva, Switzerland.
In addition, the Forum for South Africa is also calling on Health minister Aaron Motswaledi to urgently intervene at Prince Mshiyeni, Charlotte Maxeke, and Baragwanath hospitals following the death of Alulutho Mazwi. FOSA spokesperson Tebogo Mashilompane blames harsh treatment by supervisors, contributing to Mazwi’s death. The organisation says intern doctors face abuse, threats, and neglect, and wants immediate action from health authorities:
# The Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crime Court has postponed the case against former Denel chairperson Lungisani Daniel Mantsha and ex-CEO Zwelakhe Ntshepe to 30 July 2025. The delay will allow the accused to review docket contents and disclosures. They face charges of corruption, fraud, and breaching financial laws linked to the Denel Asia deal between 2014 and 2018.
