# Police minister Senzo Mchunu says his department have full confidence in the team set up by national police commissioner, Fannie Masemola to investigate the disappearance of three police constables. The ministry’s spokesperson, Kamogelo Mogotsi says Linda (pronounce: Lienda) Cebekhulu, Keamogetswe Buys, and Boipelo Senoge,were last seen on Wednesday at the Engen garage near the Grasmere toll plaza along the N1:
National police commissioner, Fannie Masemola meanwhile says they are offering 350-thousand-rand reward for any information on the whereabouts of the three missing police constables. He says someone somewhere saw something especially from the time they left the Engen garage near the Toll Plaza:
# Two Karoo-based wind farms, Rietkloof and Brandvalley, have started contributing power to South Africa’s grid. They are the first two wind farms of round five of government’s renewable energy public procurement programme to become operational. The farms span a combined 16-thousand-200 hectares, and each have 32 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 288 MegaWatt. The energy produced will be enough for 367-thousand households per year. Bid Window 5 was launched in 2021 and was the country’s most cost-competitive procurement round with more that 100 bids submitted.
# Donald Trump says he is very disappointed with Russia for its attacks on Ukraine, including Kyiv where nine people were killed on Friday. The US president met with Volodymyr Zelensky at the Vatican for their first face-to-face meeting since their explosive White House summit. The Ukrainian president said the meeting ahead of Pope Francis’s funeral could end up being historic. Trump said he think the Ukrainian leader wants to make a deal. He added he wants Putin to stop shooting, sit down and sign a deal.
# And tennis: Alexander Zverev is convinced there was a defect in the electronic line calling system during his Madrid Open win on Sunday. The German risked a hefty fine by pulling out his phone to take a photograph of a contested call. The top was frustrated when the tracking technology called in a backhand from his opponent. Zverev said he is a fan of the technology he was shocked by the incident in Madrid. The ATP from this year has adopted the line calling system for all its tournaments.
